I finally found a place to do my Practicum! At first I was terrified and I must admit some of our clients still scare the crap out of me! I have been with Addicare for a 5 days now and I have already learned so much. I have helped facilitate groups and even done a couple of individual sessions under the watchful eye of my trainer Justin, who cracks me up on a daily basis! Yesterday a couple of the young men asked me all kinds of questions about my past and why I was there, it was great to see the looks on their faces when I told them I once sat where they are and totally understand where they are coming from! One kid said "miss you don't look like you ever did nothing wrong in your life..." HAHAHAHA oh if you only knew my friend. It is nice to be on the other side of the table. The greatest thing I have learned is that this is exactly what I am supposed to be doing and I am exactly where I should be!
