Austin Vacation.

Just back form my spring break in Austin....and I have to say for the most part my trip was awesome! However, it didn’t start that way. I arrived at the dallas train station at 11:30 am, my train was scheduled to leave at 12:20.......NOT! At first I was so excited about my first train ride I wasn’t too upset when they said the train was an hour late......7 1/2 hours later I got on the train bound for Austin! I felt so bad for Heather who had to get up and pick me up at like 2 am. after some much needed sleep I got on with my vacation. Heather, Charley and I went for a great lunch at this little BBQ place that was soooo good and then went for a hike in the Austin greenbelt. It was beautiful! Heather and Charley are seasoned hikers but they were nice enough to be patient with my old ass.....such great people! That night some friends came over for fire spinning, good food, and a bit of meade. It was very laid back and relaxed. Sunday we went to the best place to eat in the world as I know it. Green Pastures was everything Heather said it was and more...I want more milk punch and am currently searching for reasons to make my way back!!! I got to spend some time with Danielle and Julian, and really got to know Heather better. I had a great time and am sooooo grateful to Heather, Charley, and Katie for welcoming me into their home and being so wonderful to me. The week was filled with good food, hiking, friendship, lots of laughter, good music,(thanks to Ginger, Bekah, and S.J)a great message and tons of wonderful conversations! I wish I could say the trip home was quick and easy...but apparently thats not how Amtrak works. The train was right on time to leave Austin....I was thrilled but then in small town texas somwhere between Austin and Dallas we stopped....and sat for almost 3 1/2 hours!!! I finally got home around 7 tonight and am happy!!! Thanks again to my peeps in Austin you were great and I can’t wait to see you all again!
