I know this is a little late..Dad's birthday is actually on the 19th, but I was in Houston with him so I did not need to write a "Birthday" blog. I am so glad I went down there...I had such a good time. I normally do have a nice time with Dad and Sharon but this trip was especially nice, not just because it was Dad's birthday but because the three of us spent a lot of time talking on their back patio. I loved that! I also went to garage sales with Sharon, which in 25 years of knowing each other we have never done together! It was nice to spend time with just Sharon, and talk with her. She and I have not always seen eye to eye but I do love her and I am grateful that she is in my Pop's life! The three of us also took a trip to the Houston zoo. Going to Zoos is one of my Favorite things to do with my Father. We both love all the animals so much and have such a good time just hanging out.
In addition to the zoo we took a tour of Downtown Houston...not an intentional one...Dad decided to let Sharon and I guide his way out of the zoo area, which was not the smartest thing to do on his part, but it was all in good fun and we did finally make way our way home. The trip did have a bittersweet note to it in that Dad an d Sharon are moving at the end of October and this was most likely my last visit to their Houston home. I understand their need to go but I will miss them being here in Texas. But then again I have always wanted to see West Virginia....

I am so glad you were with your Dad on his birthday. I am also glad you had some time with Sharon. She is one cool lady and I rejoice she is in my brother's life.
I remember going to a zoo with you in Hawaii where I became Aunty Muff. By the by, you will enjoy West VA very much. Give it a shot!
